Southern California Wildfires & Mudslides
In December 2017, six devastating wildfires besieged Southern California, including the Thomas Fire in Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties, the Creek Fire in the Sylmar/Kagel Canyon area, and the Rye Fire in Santa Clarita. Tragically, the fires displaced hundreds of thousands of residents, burned hundreds of thousands of acres, and destroyed thousands of homes across the Southern California region.
The fires were among the most destructive the state has ever seen. The Thomas Fire was the largest wildfire in modern California history. The effects of the fire also contributed to mudslides in Montecito that caused at least 21 fatalities and damaged or destroyed hundreds of homes.
It has been reported that electric company Southern California Edison’s local facilities are currently under investigation in relation to the cause of at least some of the fires. California Fire Lawyers currently represents plaintiffs who sustained injuries or incurred damages as a result of the fires in lawsuits against SoCal Edison. Contact us to learn more.
Northern California Wildfires
In October 2017, multiple fires blazed in Northern California, claiming more than 40 lives and destroying thousands of homes. The Tubbs Fire, which raged through Sonoma County and Napa County, quickly became the most destructive fire in California history.
Pacific Gas & Electric Company, known as PG&E, has been accused of negligence which led to the start of these fires. California Fire Lawyers currently represents hundreds of plaintiffs from Tubbs, Sonoma, Napa, Mendocino, and Butte Counties who are holding PG&E accountable for their alleged role in causing the fires. We also represent public entities, including Sonoma County and Napa County, in lawsuits against PG&E. Contact us to learn more.

“The mudslide washed my car away and the destroyed remains of it were found on the beach in Montecito. As terrifying as that was, I am so thankful that my family was otherwise unharmed. My heart breaks for the families who are grieving the loss of loved ones after this terrible ordeal.”
– Alicia Journey, a local attorney with the California Fire Lawyers
Helping Californians Recover Losses From Wildfires
Many people who have lost their homes due to the wildfires are coming to a devastating realization. They thought their homeowner’s insurance policy covered them for their losses – but just the opposite is true. Many older policies don’t come close to providing the coverage these property owners need in order to pick up the pieces.
The nationally-recognized attorneys with Baron & Budd, the Singleton Law Firm, Dixon Diab & Chambers LLP, Thorsnes Bartolotta McGuire, and Terry Singleton, Esq., known collectively as the California Fire Lawyers, are teaming up to help those affected by these tragic wildfires. Each of these firms has extensive experience in representing California families who have suffered losses in previous wildfires, including the Butte and Chariot fires.
